Enabling Subscriptions with PayPal
If you would like to offer PayPal as a payment method for subscriptions, you will need to contact PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/contactus) and ask them to have “Reference Transaction” enabled on your account.
PayPal may ask you to explain why you need this feature and to provide additional business documents, such as a revenue forecast, average transaction value, and so on. You can explain that this feature is required because you sell products/services on a subscription model.
Once PayPal confirms that “Reference Transaction” is enabled, contact us and request that we enable the Subscription Manager for PayPal. Please remember to include your merchant account number, which will help speed things up. We will do this for you in less than 24 hours.
Only new subscriptions initiated after this feature has been enabled will be managed by BlueSnap’s Subscription Manager engine.
To cancel or modify your customer’s subscriptions, please do so via your BlueSnap account and not directly with PayPal.
